The Weekly Whimsy - June 1st, 2026
A weekly newsletter where I share 3 small ways to add more whimsy to your day, 2 quotes worth saving, and 1 new thing I’m trying in 2026.
Welcome to The Weekly Whimsy!
Happy June! Ahhh there’s just nothin’ like a fresh start of a new month. I love to sit down with my journal at the beginning of a month and do a little ~life audit.~ What filled my cup last month? What emptied it? What’s one thing I want to do this month that I’ve done before? What’s one thing I want to do this month that I’ve never done before? Happy June and journaling to ya, friend!
3 whimsies for the week
Write your big worries in teeny tiny writing on a post-it.
It feels good to get them outta your brain and onto paper, and (!) it helps to make your problems look really, really small for a sec.
Do a book swap with friends.
Next time you get together with your friends, tell everyone to bring a book to trade. If you want to make a party of it, have everyone make a treat or sip related to the book they brought.
Visit a furry friend at the local animal shelter.
Did you know most local animal shelters let you come and walk pups or hang out with cats? They’ve got a way of showing you how to stop and smell the roses (or fire hydrant… c’est la vie!)
2 quotes to tuck away*
*one kindaaaa long one
“I don’t think existence wants you to be serious. I have not seen a serious tree. I have not seen a serious bird. I have not seen a serious sunrise. I have not seen a serious starry night. It seems they are all laughing in their own ways, dancing in their own ways. We may not understand it, but there is a subtle feeling that the whole existence is a celebration.” - Osho
1 thing I’m trying
I’m trying a lacrosse league with some friends. I haven’t played since high school but it was such a huge part of my life and such a fun way to get exercise outside. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Wishing you a week full of the good stuff! <3

So fun! I wrote a piece about how I add joy to adult life. I think you might like it! https://yellowcrayonthoughts.substack.com/p/10-things-i-do-to-protect-joy-in?r=83sim3&utm_medium=ios
It's so easy to take so many things seriously that are best not taken too seriously. Life's best moments are the not-so-serious ones. Thanks for the reminder!!
